Autism Speaks in West Virginia
Approximately 400 participants came out in support of the Ten Year Celebration of the Wheeling/Ohio Valley Now for Autism Speaks event. This year’s walk was once again held on Warwood Trail at Warwood School in Wheeling WV. Participants enjoyed the day with food, fun and entertainment! We were fortunate enough to miss the rain and even saw a bit of sun!
Congratulations to Walk Chairs, Kelley Fogg and Erica Icenhower for organizing the walk and helping to raise over $39,000 with donations still expected to roll in! A special thank you to our Wheeling/Ohio Valley Walk Planning Committee for ensuring walk success!
We would like to thank all of the service providers that attended and our amazing sponsors that helped to make the Wheeling/Ohio Valley Walk possible. The Community Resource Fair featured 13 service providers focused on helping families affected by autism. Our National Sponsors, Toys “R” Us and Babies “R” Us were in attendance with Geoffrey the Giraffe. Our local corporate sponsors including, AERI, Family Behavioral Resources, American Tire, Alex E. Paris Contacting Company, Christian Fellowship Foundation, Ohio County Schools, Ohio Valley Mall, OV Scale Corporation, Riesbeck Food Markets, for their support of the walk!
A huge thank you to all of the walk day volunteers who helped to make the day run smooth. We are so grateful to all of all participants who worked hard for months leading up to the Walk and to all of those who will continue to work through the year’s end to raise much-needed awareness and funds in support of our mission.
