In New Jersey, we have funded over $2.7 million in these areas. Autism Speaks is dedicated to: Science and Research - Autism Speaks has committed over $89 million to fund more than 700 research projects and fellowships. Locally, projects representing $2.7 million in investments have been funded at NJIT, Rutgers University, and Princeton University. Family Services - After five rounds, the Family Services Community Grants has funded $2.4 million in programs in one of the following areas: Education, Recreation/Community Activities, or Young Adult/Adult Services. In New Jersey, eight Family Services Community Grants totaling $124,472 have been awarded. Awareness - "Light It Up Blue" asks iconic buildings to turn their lights blue for World Autism Awareness Day. In 2010, the Empire State Building, Ben Franklin Bridge and Giants Stadium went blue.
