The mission of Autism Speaks to Young Professionals (AS2YP) is to change the future for all who struggle with autism spectrum disorders by volunteering our time and talents to increase awareness, raise funds and serve as ambassadors of Autism Speaks.
On Saturday, April 16th, 2016, AS2YP will host its annual Illuminate to benefit Autism Speaks at Revel Downtown. Illuminate is one of AS2YP’s largest and most beloved events. Each year, hundreds of young professionals, families, and local businesses come together for an entertaining evening of cocktails and hors d’oeuvres from Chicago’s favorite restaurants, a silent auction and inspiring tributes from families and AS2YP members.Click here to get your tickets: http://bit.ly/Illuminate2016
We have high expectations for Illuminate 2016 as it will mark our 6th year anniversary and will be bigger and better than ever before!
A Look Back on 2014...
2014 was a HUGE success! Thanks to all members and friends of AS2YP for your passion and support – it was an incredible year! We raised over $68,000 at Illuminate and close to $100,000 as an organization through Spikes for Autism Speaks and Double Denim Bar Crawl. Our organization grew with the addition of several dedicated members. We played (and won) in LTS leagues, had a few drinks and ran marathons – all for a cause that we believe in. We couldn’t have done it without YOU and can’t wait to see what we accomplish together in 2015!
Thanks to all who attended the 2014 Illuminate event- check out our pictures
AS2YP members & friends enjoyed Illuminate 2014 at Block 37, raising over $65,000!
Last summer, one of our intramural kickball teams, Pitches Be Crazy, won the league through LTS Chicago, one of our favorite partners, and won Autism Speaks Chicago some money!
The 2nd annual Spikes for Autism Speaks volleyball tournament was held
on July 26, 2014 at Montrose Beach. Our main sponsor, Step by Step Care
Group Donated $5,000 to the event! We had other
great sponsors such as Sports Authority, Duffys, Vitamin Shoppe,
Greater Than Energy Drink, and Game time. The tournament grew from 50
participants in it's first year to over 200+ participants, volunteers
and spectators. We had a range of skill level from beginners 6s to
competitive 2s for a volleyball tournament that lasted all day long.
After the volleyball tournament, Duffy's was able to host the tournament
after party were we continued to raffle prizes and raise money for
Autism Speaks. At the end of the day, we raised nearly $10,000 for
Many AS2YP members celebrated World Autism Awareness Day at The Bean on April 2nd, 2014 in support of the international Light It Up Blue campaign!
For the 6th straight year, Chicagoans took to the streets of
Wrigleyville to raise needed funds and awareness for autism, all while
dressing head to toe in denim!
The Double Denim Bar Crawl for Autism Speaks raised over $6,000! Bar
crawlers had the opportunity to win prizes, awards and contests
throughout the afternoon, all proceeds benefited Autism Speaks 2 Young
Professionals. Two articles of denim were required to truly paint the town blue, both as a funny poke to the double denim fashion trend and a symbol of Autism Speaks' "Light it up Blue" campaign for Autism Awareness Month.
SAVE THE DATE: The bar crawl is back for their 7th year of awesomeness this April 25th, where organizers have some new tricks up their sleeves to make the event unforgettable.
