UMD Fear the Turtle
The 2nd annual “Fear the Turtle, Find a Cure Autism SpeaksU 5K Race/3K Walk” presented by Sigma Delta Tau and Sigma Phi Epsilon will take place at the University of Maryland-College Park. Join us for this year's event, which will feature a competitive 5K Run and family-friendly 3K Walk, autism information, family fun, entertainment and much more. Date: 4/17/2010


Bethesda Triathlon Benefitting Autism Speaks!
Fast becoming a local tradition, the 2009 super-sprint triathlon raised over $90,000. Over 400 weekend warriors tested themselves with a 250 meter pool swim, 9.3 mile bike ride and 2.5 mile run. Rated a huge success by participants, plans are currently underway for the 8th annual tri which will be held this Spring 2010. Date: 4/18/2010


Potomac 5K!
Join us for the 10th Anniversary Autism Speaks 5K in Potomac, MD on July 4th. Over the last 9 years, the Potomac 5K has contributed close to $1.5 million to fund autism research. This competitive 5K and 1 mile fun walk is a family friendly event that welcomes participants from all over the DC metro area and has become a July 4th tradition. The race meanders on the rolling hills of a beautiful suburban neighborhood and ends with great food, music and prizes. Runners and walkers are encouraged to form teams to enhance their fundraising efforts. In 2009 alone the 5K raised almost $200,000. Organizers will continue to promote the “Run Anywhere” concept for those individuals who plan to be away but still desire to run their 5K on the 4th wherever their travels take them.
