2009 Miriam Learning Center Summer Camps: Silly Olympic Games Session 2
Go for the gold! MLC has a crazy new camp that is sure to make your child feel like a champion. In addition to occupational therapy twice a day, your child will earn victory ribbons while participating in the Silly Olympic Games! Participants will get ribbons for activities such as stacking the highest number of marshmallows on a shoe, building the best tower from mud and
straw or designing a holder that prevents a raw egg from cracking when dropped. We need your child’s help to lead their team to victory!

SLU Kid's Connection to Social Skills (SKCTSS) Groups
Groups for 7-11 year olds Monday to Thursday from 9:30AM -12PM. Each intensive two week session is limited to a maximum of 6 children and a minimum of 3. These medically-based services include: individualized goal-focused occupational therapy intervention; sensory integration, self regulation training and social skills development intervention. Family oriented training is provided concurrently with child sessions. Guiding theoretical principles include: peer mediation (typical peer models), theory of mind, sensory processing, developmental, self determination and other cognitive-behavioral strategies. Skills covered will include character building, self regulation, and recognizing emotions, making and keeping friends, manners, and dealing with bullies.

National Autism Association of Kansas Conference
Speakers include Mika Brzezinski from MSNBC’s Morning Joe and Reverend Lisa Sparks, author of Sacred Spark. The conference will be held in Kansas City, MO.
