“Wild Boy” Playing Through July 26th!
A theatrical production by Oliver Goldstick adapted from the book “Not Even Wrong” about a father’s journey with his son who has autism. When Paul and Jennifer Collins learn that Morgan, their brilliant 3-year-old son, may never master the most basic forms of human connection, their once-solid marriage begins to crumble. Paul retreats into historical research looking for answers. It’s is the compelling journey of parents facing the greatest of challenges, as well as a stirring exploration of what makes us human.

Shows are Thurs., Fri. and Sat. at 8:00 pm, and Sun. at 3:00 pm from now through July 26th!

“This is How We See the World” - Artwork and Poetry
Please join the city of Pasadena for their Art show reception at the Armory Center. This exhibit, which continues through July 19th, includes all of the best artwork and poetry created by adults with disabilities that participate each week in their art program! Date: 6/27/2009


Recycle for Autism!
Whole Foods Market Porter Ranch, Coastal E-Waste and Naya Fresh Body Spa have teamed up for an electronic waste collection event to raise proceeds for the CDI Moms Team. Help raise money for the 2010 Los Angeles Walk Now for Autism Speaks! All electronic and battery operated items are accepted! That means: computers, monitors/flat screens, televisions, laptops, printers, cellular phones, printer cartridges, wire and cables. Date: 7/11/2009


Summer Camp at Vista Del Mar
“Learning Through Engagement” is the theme of this fully inclusive program that features social skills, arts, athletics, friendships and fun where special needs children are paired with typically developing teens! Designed for children 11-16

Monday-Friday afternoon or full day sessions start the week of July 13th and go until the week of August 17th.

“Annie”
The hit Broadway show will be performed by consumers from the Lifetime Adult Day Program, which believes in giving every person the opportunity to be involved in society and to experience life to the fullest. The cast and crew are clients with developmental disabilities from the Inland and San Gabriel Regional Centers, with assistance from theatre students from Cal Poly Pomona. Proceeds will help a consumer from the program take a trip to Washington DC and New York. Date: 7/18/2009


Autism Movement Therapy Workshop
This course is designed for parents, teachers, paraprofessionals, caregivers, dancers, dance therapists and professionals in the field of special education who want to develop skills and strategies for instruction of Autism Movement Therapy. The workshop will cover how to plan and lead developmentally age appropriate "Time, Space & Energy" movement and music lessons and activities for students preschool through 18 years of age with special needs. Enrollment is limited to 20 participants and all levels of proficiency are welcome. Cost is $249 and includes lunch. Date: 7/18/2009

Sunshine Singers Summertime Music Group!
We are an inclusive music group that sings, plays instruments, moves and grooves. We welcome students from ages 15 and up with intellectual and physical disabilities. We create a positive environment for all. Registration is required by July 31st. This session will last 8 weeks, and culminate in a concert October 4th! Date: 8/5/2009


Ride for Autism
A fun motorcycle ride and party that raises money to support several autism organizations. Autism Speaks is one of the beneficiaries. Check in and registration starts at 9:00 AM at Laidlaw's Harley-Davidson in Baldwin Park, CA.

Dean McDermott, an avid motorcycle racer, actor and star of "Tori and Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood" will serve as Grand Marshall of The Ride for Autism!

4th Annual Autism/Asperger’s Conference
Various tracks will be focused on areas that address parents, teachers, teens and adults, medical issues, legal challenges, speech, and social skills. This is always a great conference for parents and professionals. CEU’s are available for certain professions. Discounted price is available for people who register by July 24. Date: 8/14/2009


A Midsummer Night's Cocktail Party
Black Card Circle Foundation, Inc. has a mission to create awareness for and provide grants to non-profit organizations that promote Self-Reliance and Sustainability in the areas of Education, Environment, Health Care, Community Development and Poverty Relief. It is a 100% volunteer organization and all net proceeds are donated directly to charity. The executive management team receives zero compensation for their volunteer work

Black Card Circle is proud to sponsor its Black Tie Charity Event, for which Autism Speaks will be one of the two beneficiaries. This cocktail attire event at the Santa Barbara Museum of Art will include a Champagne reception, choral concert, networking opportunities, appetizers, cocktails, raffle and silent auction.
