We invite you to find out more and participate in statewide advocacy efforts, local community resources, upcoming events, and ways to get involved. Community Outreach - Autism Speaks is coming to a community near you!Autism Speaks will be hosting two organizational meetings this December in the Albany/Schenectady and Syracuse/Utica areas. These meetings will take place on December 3rd and 4th respectively. These meeting will highlight Autism Speaks' mission and what the organization is doing to serve families in New York as well as how individuals can get involved locally. Autism in the News New York Presbyterian Hospital Presents the Latest Developments in Autism: Research to Therapy - The article and webcast discusses current concepts in the assessment, treatment, and research of autism featuring physicians and researchers from New York Prebyterian Hospital, Columbia University, and Cornell University. Innovative Playground Opens - Binghamton Univeristy's Institute of Child Development opened a new playground designed to be a learning tool for children with autism and other developmental disorders. Workers Receive Training to Help those with Autism - Emergency workers in Rochester were educated about autism and how to respond in emergency situations. NAPA Joins Effort to 'Fix' Autism - Hudson & Mowins garage in Syracuse is raising awareness and funds of autism spectrum disorders.
