Autism Speaks is dedicated to:

  • Science and Research - leading us to answers and interventions
  • Family Services - providing families with information, tools and resources
  • Awareness - increasing public knowledge and understanding of autism
  • Advocacy - accelerating national and state autism legislation

In Florida, we have funded over $3,125,000 in the areas of research and family services. We are also proud to have been a part of the grassroots efforts that encouraged Governor Charlie Crist and the state's legislators for passing Senate Bill 2654 - which will ultimately provide each family with up to $36,000 insurance coverage of evidence based, medically necessary autism therapies.

The Florida community continues to turn out in record numbers in support of the Autism Speaks. Join us at one of our Spring Walk Now for Autism Speaks events to find more about continuing statewide advocacy efforts, local community resources, upcoming events, and ways to get involved.

Jacksonville News

Thank you for participating in the 2011 Jacksonville Walk Now for Autism Speaks event. On Saturday, September 17, more than 1500 families and individuals joined us at Hodges Stadium at the University of North Florida to help raise dollars and create awareness for autism. The event has successfully raised more than $45,000 with more still to come. The 2011 Jacksonville Walk will continue accepting donations through December 2011. South Florida News

Broward and Palm Beach Counties are proud to announce that Amber Alert Registry is a Silver Sponsor for the 2010 Walk Now for Autism Speaks events. 

Amber Alert Registry is a secure website where you can store your child's photos and pertinent medical data. Thank you for participating in the 2010 Orlando Walk Now for Autism Speaks event. On Saturday, November 13, more than 5,000 families and individuals joined us at Cranes Roost Park in Altamonte Springs, Florida to help raise dollars and create awareness for autism. The event has successfully raised more than $138,000 with more still to come. The 2010 Orlando Walk will continue accepting donations through December 2010. Over 3,000 families and individuals joined us at Estero Community Park in Estero, Florida to help raise dollars and create awareness for autism. Join us for the 2011 Tampa Bay Walk Now for Autism Speaks event on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at Al Lopez Park.
