Volunteer Opportunities

I volunteer for Autism Speaks because:

..."autism is effecting all of us"

..."This is how I can make a difference"

..."I want to dance at my son's wedding"

Whether it's stuffing envelopes, identifying service providers, or chairing a walk, volunteers make the difference!

Walk Committee
The Southeast Michigan Walk for Autism Committee meets on a monthly basis and coordinates the entire effort of the Walk program in Michigan. Positions are open on many different sub-committees, including: Food and Beverage, Community Outreach, Logistics, Team Recruitment and Sponsorship.

Local Community Events
Quite often, Autism Speaks is asked to host an informational table at local events. We are looking for volunteers, throughout the state, that have a few hours to dedicate to staffing a resource table. All information will be provided ahead of time.

Volunteers are needed to assist in Walk Day activities such as registration, quiet tent, advocacy, route managers, accounting and more.  We will be holding a Pre-Walk Volunteer meeting at the Palace of Auburn Hills Thursday October 8th, 2009  More information to follow.

If you are interested in any of these opportunities, please contact the Autism Speaks office at: chris.nanni@autismspeaks.org or call 248.794.5325.
