Autism Speaks is dedicated to:

  • Science and Research - leading us to answers and interventions
  • Family Services - providing families with information, tools and resources
  • Awareness - increasing public knowledge and understanding of autism
  • Advocacy - accelerating national and state autism legislation

In Rhode Island, we have funded over $271,162 in these areas.

Rhode Islanders embody the mission of Autism Speaks in their local communities. This year Sacramento and Modesto have joined our grassroots initiatives. We invite you to find out more and participate in statewide advocacy efforts, local community resources, upcoming events, and ways to get involved.

Awareness:

Southern New England (SNE) is excited to be pairing up again this year with CAT Country WCTK in Providence. Just like last year they will be profiling 4 families who are touched by autism.  These stories will be airing from the end of summer through to the Walk. Last year's highlighted families participated in a follow-up story and their stories will be airing as well. All the families will have an opportunity to attend CAT Events so the listeners can meet them and sign up or donate to the walk. SNE is looking forward to a great year with CAT Country!
