New York State Legislation:
Currently New York does not have an autism insurance bill sponsored by Autism Speaks. However, there is a bill that was brought before the State Assembly on April 2, 2008, World Autism Awareness Day. The Autism Identification and Education Act of 2008 was introduced by Assemblyman Conte from Long Island to identify the incidence and needs of those effected by autism spectrum disorders in New York and requires the training of education personnel. To read more about the bill, visit the New York State Assembly website.
