Californians in Sonoma, San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Orange County, and San Diego embody the mission of Autism Speaks in their local communities. This year Sacramento and Modesto have joined our grassroots initiatives. We invite you to find out more and participate in statewide advocacy efforts, local community resources, upcoming events, and ways to get involved.
You Could be in the Movies! Some local filmmakers are developing a documentary to empower families and challenge the nation to make a difference. The project is called “Wheels on The Bus” and they are looking for many families: - Children should be involved in Speech Therapy, O.T, P.T, or behavior - From various demographics and economic status - Who will allow access into their homes and lives - Children who are currently on special diets or families who cannot financially support special diets - Now or in the past or going through legal battles - Success stories - Adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder - Families affected by divorce, depression and financial struggles The goal is to present a wide variety of individuals and families affected by autism.
